Madikeri: Radisson Hotel Group has entered Karnataka’s Coorg hospitality market with the opening of Purple Palms Resort & Spa Coorg, a 78-room property operating under its Radisson Individuals Premier portfolio.

Located off the Madikeri-Mysore Road, the resort is designed to cater to leisure travellers, weddings, social celebrations and meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE). The opening marks the hospitality group’s expansion into one of Karnataka’s prominent hill destinations, targeting travellers from Bengaluru, Mysore and Mangalore, according to a report in bwhotelier.com

The property is approximately 100 km from Kannur International Airport, 101 km from Mysore Airport and 261 km from Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. Mysore Junction railway station is around 88 km away. Nearby attractions include Madikeri Fort, Abbey Falls, Chiklihole Reservoir, Kotebetta Peak and Nagarhole National Park.

Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group, said the opening reflected the company’s strategy of expanding into high-potential leisure destinations beyond traditional gateway cities.

He said destinations such as Coorg were witnessing sustained demand from urban markets as travellers increasingly sought meaningful and experiential getaways. The resort, he added, would strengthen the group’s presence in Karnataka by combining its hospitality expertise with facilities focused on leisure, wellness and events.

The resort offers three accommodation categories: Panorama Rooms, Courtyard Rooms and Peaberry Suites. Courtyard Rooms and Peaberry Suites feature private balconies, while the suites also include separate living rooms and dining areas. Garden-facing sit-outs provide additional spaces for guests to relax.

Dining options include Elephants & Coffee, a multi-cuisine restaurant serving local and fusion dishes, with open-air dining and barbecue options. Banduk Bar offers premium spirits, cocktails and mocktails.

The property also features a spa and gymnasium, adding wellness facilities to its leisure offering.

For corporate gatherings and social celebrations, the resort has Cherry Hall, a 139-square-metre venue with a capacity of up to 200 guests. The facility includes an adjoining lawn and a dedicated pre-conference area. Catering options also feature traditional Coorg cuisine, allowing guests to experience local food as part of events hosted at the property.
