Madikeri: The scenic greens of Kodagu witnessed a grand sporting event as the Cherianda family hosted the Kodagu Family Golf Championship Tournament on 19 May. The tournament saw enthusiastic participation and fierce competition, culminating in a spectacular victory for Team Ballachanda in the Championship Team – Open Strokeplay category.
Championship Team – Open Strokeplay
Winners: Team Ballachanda, represented by Mr. Ganapathy B A and Reon Cariappa, clinched the title with an impressive gross score of 155. Their exceptional performance set a high standard for the tournament.
Runners-Up: Team Kanjithanda, featuring Dr. Sunil Muddaiah and Mr. K K Chengappa, finished with a respectable gross score of 164.
Championship Team - Handicap Strokeplay (0-24)
Winners: Team Kuppanda, with Mr. Nithin Nanjappa and Binnu Kumar, achieved victory with a net score of 140.
Runners-Up: Team Chenanda, represented by Col C M Appaiah and C P Cariappa, followed closely with a net score of 148.
