Mysuru: The Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES) organised the 2024 Chief Minister’s Cup (CM Cup) from October 3 to 6 at Chamundi Vihar Stadium, Mysuru. This state-level tournament brought together athletes from various sports disciplines, with boxing competitions for Elite Women and Men in different weight categories drawing significant attention.
In the Elite Women’s boxing event, Kodagu native Allumada A. Saanchi Bollamma, representing the Bangalore Urban division, clinched the gold medal in the 63+ kg weight category. Her dominant performance throughout the tournament earned her the prestigious Best Boxer award for Elite Women.
The silver medal in the same category was won by Jiya from the Belagavi division, while Roshni Muthanna from the Mysore division and Divyashree of Bangalore Rural division took home the bronze medals.
The CM Cup 2024 was an integral part of the state’s annual Dasara festivities and served as a platform for Karnataka’s young athletes to showcase their talents.
