Ponnampet: The ongoing threat of tigers in South Kodagu remains a concern for residents, as numerous instances of cattle being attacked have been reported throughout the district. On the morning of Thursday, November 30, a tiger claimed the life of a cattle in Besagur village, near Ponnampet in South Kodagu.
Upon discovering that the tiger had killed the cattle, the residents promptly alerted the forest department. In response, the forest department has issued a warning to all residents in and around Besagur, urging them to exercise caution. They have provided the contact number 8147508242 of the Deputy Range Forest Officer (DRFO), to report any concerns or incidents related to tigers.
“To prevent any further tiger attacks we have accelerated the search for the tiger. People no need to worry,” said a forest department official.
