Madikeri: For the first time, a Kodava song is set to feature in a Malayalam movie. The song, titled Bros in Coorg, is part of the upcoming film Bromance and will be released on YouTube on December 30 at 6 p.m., according to the filmmakers.
Bros in Coorg is written by Kodagu based lyricist Kiran Kaverappa and sung by popular playback singer Sanjith Hegde. The film team announced the song on their social media platforms, generating excitement among fans.
Directed by Arun, Raveesh Nath, and Thomas P. Sebastian, Bromance stars Arjun Ashokan, Mathew Thomas, and Mahima Nambiar in lead roles. The ensemble cast also includes Kalabhavan Shajohn, Binu Pappu, Shyam Mohan, Sangeeth Prathap and Kodagu native Bharath Bopanna. Cinematography is handled by Akhil George, with editing by Chaman Chakko. The film’s music is composed by Govind Vasantha, and Ashiq Usman is producing it under the Ashiq Usman Productions banner.
The movie is scheduled for release on February 14, 2025, coinciding with Valentine’s Day.
Earlier this year, the production made headlines when a car chase sequence went awry during filming. A car reportedly driven by the stunt choreographer, with actors Arjun, Mathew Thomas, and Sangeeth Prathap on board, was involved in an accident. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
The inclusion of a Kodava song in a Malayalam film marks a significant moment, showcasing the cultural diversity of South Indian cinema. Fans of Kodava music and Malayalam cinema alike are eagerly awaiting the song’s release.
