Bengaluru: According to India Meteorological Department(IMD) the weather in Karnataka is influenced by the persistent off-shore trough stretching from South Gujarat to the Kerala coast.
“The shear zone roughly along 20°N between 4.5 & 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height has become less marked,” N. Puviarasan, Scientist and Head of the Meteorological Centre in Bengaluru, stated in a press release on Thursday.
Coastal Karnataka and nearby Western Ghats districts are experiencing strong wind convergence. For the coming week, Kodagu is expected to see isolated heavy rainfall and sustained wind speeds of 30-40 kmph, while other regions may experience light to moderate rain.
