Heavy Rains Force Kodagu District to Declare School Holiday Tomorrow

For several days, the heavy rainfall has caused significant waterlogging and flooding in various areas of Kodagu.

Madikeri: Due to relentless heavy rains, Deputy Commissioner Venkat Raja has declared a holiday for all schools and PU colleges in Kodagu on Thursday, 18 July. This precautionary measure aims to ensure the safety of students as the region faces continuous downpours.

For several days, the heavy rainfall has caused significant waterlogging and flooding in various areas of Kodagu. The adverse weather conditions have made roads hazardous and severely disrupted transportation, leading the district administration to take immediate action to protect school-going children.

The ongoing downpours have resulted in a red alert being issued for the district, highlighting the severity of the situation. The heavy rains have not only affected daily life but also posed considerable safety risks, making the closure of educational institutions a necessary step.
