Inaugural Kodava Muslim Family Cricket Tournament Set to Kick Off on April 15

Virajpet: The Kodava Muslim community in Kodagu is all set to witness a historic event as the inaugural Kodava Muslim Family Cricket Tournament is scheduled to take place from April 15 to 21, 2024. 

Organized by the Kuvalera Family, this cricket extravaganza promises to bring together the spirit of sportsmanship and community bonding on the lush grounds in Chamiyala, Virajpet.

The anticipation for the tournament reached new heights as the official logo was unveiled by Ajjikuttira S Ponnanna, legal advisor to the Chief Minister of Karnataka and Virajpet MLA.

Speaking about the tournament, Aneesh Usman, President of the Kuvalera Family, expressed his excitement, stating, "This tournament holds immense significance for our community. It not only celebrates our love for cricket but also fosters unity and camaraderie among Kodava Muslims. We are thrilled to announce that 64 teams will vie for glory over the course of seven action-packed days."

The champions of the tournament will not only claim the prestigious title but also a handsome reward of Rs 1 lakh cash along with a gleaming trophy. The runners-up will win a commendable prize of Rs 50,000 cash along with their own trophy. Additionally, the third and fourth-placed teams will be honored with trophies.
