Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday assured that strict action will be taken against those found responsible in connection with the suicide of BJP worker Vinay Somaiah. Speaking to reporters, he said an FIR has already been registered and the investigation is currently underway.
“Action will be taken based on the investigation. We cannot respond to every demand made by the BJP. They are frustrated and are politicising even a tragic death,” the Chief Minister said, referring to the BJP's allegations and calls for further action.

Vinay Somaiah, a BJP worker who died by suicide in Bengaluru, was brought to his hometown Kushalnagar on Saturday, triggering massive political unrest in Kodagu.
The BJP has intensified its protests, demanding that Chief Minister’s Legal Advisor A.S. Ponnanna and Virajpet MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda be named in the FIR. The saffron party accused the government of shielding those in power and has announced statewide agitation.
Tensions flared at the protest site in Kushalnagar, where over 800 police personnel were deployed. Several senior BJP leaders including State BJP president B.Y. Vijayendra, Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, former MP Pratap Simha, and former MLA K.G. Bopaiah were detained by police during the agitation.
The incident has sparked a fresh round of political confrontation between the ruling Congress and the opposition BJP in Karnataka.
