Bengaluru: Kodagu district is bracing for significant rainfall, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing an red alert for the region on 2 December, Monday.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall, coupled with isolated instances of extremely heavy downpours, is predicted to persist over the next two days due to the remnants of Cyclonic Storm “Fengal.” The system, now a well-marked low-pressure area, is expected to move towards the Arabian Sea, intensifying weather conditions along its path, according to IMD press release at 1 pm 2 December.
For December 3, the IMD forecast is that isolated heavy rain is very likely to occur in Kodagu. The rainfall intensity is forecasted to slightly reduce after December 4, with light to moderate showers expected in Kodagu and neighboring districts.
