Kodagu Ranks Fourth in Karnataka in 2nd PUC Exam Results

Minister for School Education and Literacy Madhu Bangarappa, who announced the results, acknowledged the fall in pass percentage.

BENGALURU: The Kodagu district has secured the fourth position in Karnataka with an impressive pass percentage of 83.84% in the results of the 2nd PUC exam for the academic year 2024–25, which were declared on April 8. The performance stands out amid a general dip in pass percentages across the state.

The overall pass percentage this year stands at 69.16%, a sharp decline from 81.15% recorded in 2023–24. Of the 6,37,805 students who appeared for the examination across Karnataka, 4,68,439 have cleared it.

The dip in results is being attributed to a series of examination reforms introduced this year, including the installation of AI-enabled CCTV cameras and webcasting of the exam process to curb malpractice. According to officials, these measures ensured strict vigilance and prevented unfair practices during the examination.

Minister for School Education and Literacy Madhu Bangarappa, who announced the results, acknowledged the fall in pass percentage. “We have not awarded any grace marks this time, except for students on the borderline. About 8,297 students were pushed through using the evaluation scheme,” he said.

However, the Minister noted that students who failed or wish to improve their scores can attempt exam-2 and exam-3, which will be conducted without charging any fee. “We expect the overall results to improve by 3-4% once all three rounds of exams are completed,” he added.
