
Madikeri: In a bid to enhance the travel experience for visitors, the Kodagu district tourism department has unveiled a dedicated website, explorekodagu.com. This platform aims to serve as a one-stop destination for information on the region’s tourist attractions, accommodations, and essential travel services, according to Anitha Bhaskar, Deputy Director of Kodagu Tourism.
The website provides details of registered and certified homestays, resorts, restaurants, taxi operators, and tour guides, ensuring that tourists have access to verified and reliable services. Anitha Bhaskar said that the portal includes listings of hospitality centres and restaurants certified by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), guaranteeing quality and safety for visitors.

Kodagu, widely known as Coorg, is celebrated for its breathtaking landscapes, lush coffee plantations, and unique cultural heritage. The district, often referred to as the ‘Scotland of India’, is a favoured getaway for nature lovers and adventure seekers. From mist-covered hills to cascading waterfalls, the region attracts thousands of visitors throughout the year.
Under the Tourism Policy, the department has identified 778 tourist destinations, out of which 23 key sites in Kodagu have been mapped with addresses and Google navigation links on the new website. The platform also features comprehensive guides on planning trips, making it easier for travellers to explore the scenic beauty and rich history of the district.
The launch of explorekodagu.com is expected to streamline tourism-related services and promote sustainable travel in Kodagu, according to officials. Authorities encourage tourists to make use of the website for seamless trip planning and a memorable experience in the coffee-growing district.
