Madikeri: A two-wheeler rider was fined ₹25,500 by the Madikeri Traffic Police for violating multiple traffic regulations during a routine inspection on College Road recently.
Sub-Inspector of the Madikeri traffic police station and his team were conducting vehicle checks when they spotted a speeding two-wheeler. Upon stopping the vehicle, the police discovered that it had a modified silencer and lacked a side mirror. The rider, identified as Abdul Fahim, 21, a resident of Mahadevpet, was booked under Sections 281, BNS & 189, 177, 190(2), and 115 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, according to a report published in TOI.
According to police officials, the fine included ₹10,000 for overspeeding and reckless driving, ₹10,000 for using a modified silencer and lacking an emission certificate, ₹5,000 for engaging in racing or speeding, and ₹500 for not having a side mirror or rear indicator.
The Madikeri Traffic Police emphasised their commitment to enforcing traffic laws to ensure public safety and reduce the risk of accidents. Authorities have also urged motorists to adhere to road safety rules and maintain their vehicles in compliance with legal standards.
