Dubai: Madikeri's young prodigy, A.R. Aluf, has brought laurels to Karnataka by clinching the champion title at the 12th International Brain-O-Brain Championship, held recently at the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium in Dubai.
The prestigious competition witnessed the participation of 2,036 students from 18 countries, showcasing their exceptional mental arithmetic skills. Aluf, a 9-year-old 4th-grade student at St. Michael’s School in Madikeri, excelled among his peers to claim the top spot.
Aluf honed his skills under the tutelage of Mapangada Kavitha Karumbaiah at the Brain-O-Brain Abacus institute in Madikeri. His remarkable achievement highlights the growing prominence of abacus training in shaping young minds.
Representing Karnataka, Aluf was among five participants from the state who competed at this international-level event. His success is a source of pride not only for his hometown but also for the entire state.
Aluf is the son of Madikeri-based entrepreneur Rafiq and Sabina. His parents expressed immense joy over their son’s accomplishment and credited his hard work and dedication for the victory.
The Brain-O-Brain Championship is a globally recognised event that tests participants on speed, accuracy, and cognitive skills through abacus-based problem-solving.
