Gonikoppa: A man narrowly escaped death after an elephant attack in Balaji village, Gonikoppa, on Saturday evening. Harish, a plantation manager working for Jammada Mohan owned estate, was attacked by a wild elephant around 4:30 p.m. in the plantation area.
Despite the frightening encounter, Harish managed to escape with minor injuries. He was swiftly shifted to Lopamudra Hospital in Gonikoppa, where he is being treated for neck injuries. Fortunately, Harish is reported to be out of danger.
Forest department officials visited the scene to assess the situation and take necessary actions. The incident has raised concerns about the increasing interactions between wildlife and human habitation in the region.
