MADIKERI: The Muddanda Hockey Festival, part of the renowned Kodava Hockey Festival in Karnataka’s Kodagu district, brings together the spirit of sport and community. Organised by the Muddanda family, the 2025 edition has drawn participation from hundreds of Kodava families, cementing its place as one of the world’s largest family-based field hockey tournaments. Matches are being played across multiple grounds in Madikeri, creating a vibrant atmosphere where tradition and athleticism blend seamlessly. Elders cheer from the sidelines, while children in traditional Kodava dress enhance the festive spirit, reflecting the community’s enduring passion for the sport.

The much-anticipated final day of the Muddanda Hockey Festival 2025 is here, promising thrilling action and intense competition. On 27th April 2025, the 3rd place match will kick off the day, with Nellamakkada facing Kuppanda (Kaikeri) at 9:00 a.m. on Ground 1. Following that, the Grand Finale will see Mandepanda take on Chendanda at 11:00 a.m., also on Ground 1. With pride and glory at stake, both matches are set to deliver an exciting culmination to this celebrated hockey festival.

Beyond the competition, the festival is a cultural celebration, with Kodava families gathering to honour their heritage.
