Mysuru: Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, scion of the erstwhile royal family of Mysore, officially entered the political arena by filing his nomination papers as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Mysuru-Kodagu Lok Sabha seat. His declared assets amount to a total of ₹4.99 crore.
Originally slated to file his nomination papers on April 3, Yaduveer made an unexpected appearance at the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru, K.V. Rajendra, who also serves as the Election Officer for the Mysuru Lok Sabha constituency. Accompanied by his mother, Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, and BJP leaders, including Srivatsa, the MLA for the Krishnaraja Assembly constituency, Yaduveer submitted two sets of nomination papers.
In the affidavit submitted by 32-year-old Yaduveer, residing at F-1, The Palace Mysore, Mysore – 570001, he disclosed assets totaling ₹4,99,59,303 in his name. Additionally, the assets held by his spouse and dependent amount to ₹1,04,25,000 and ₹3,63,55,343 respectively.

Notably, the affidavit excludes any immovable properties such as agricultural or non-agricultural land, as well as commercial or residential buildings, whether owned by Yaduveer, his spouse, or dependent.
His assets encompass gold and silver jewelry and bullion valued at ₹3,39,00,000 under his name, ₹1,02,50,000 under his wife's name, and ₹24,50,000 under his dependent's name.
Furthermore, Yaduveer declared bank deposits and investments in bonds and shares totaling ₹1,36,04,303, which includes ₹1,00,000 in cash.
According to his income tax returns, Yaduveer reported incomes of ₹28,42,970 for 2022-23, ₹8,51,340 for 2021-22, and ₹1,68,330 for 2020-21.
