Coimbatore: Renowned spiritual leader and the founder of Isha Foundation, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, has extended his support to Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate contesting from the Mysuru-Kodagu Lok Sabha Constituency in the upcoming elections.
In a significant gesture, Mr Sadhguru sent a video message to Mr. Wadiyar, encouraging his active participation in the political landscape of the nation.
In the video shared by Mr. Wadiyar, Mr Sadhguru emphasized the importance of the involvement of individuals hailing from royal families in the governance and administration of the country. He urged them not to confine themselves to the comfort of their palaces or merely managing hospitality ventures like hotels and resorts.
"They must participate in the administration of this nation, not because they are Maharajas, but because their families have a history of experience and possess a tremendous amount of administrative expertise," Sadhguru asserted in the video message.

Expressing his satisfaction with Mr Wadiyar's decision to step into the electoral arena, Mr Sadhguru emphasized the necessity for active participation beyond ceremonial roles. He urged Mr. Wadiyar to leverage his position to bring about positive change and welfare not only to the state of Mysuru but also to Karnataka and the entire nation.
"I am glad to hear that Mr. Wadiyar is now participating in the election. I hope it will not be just ceremonial; he must actively participate and bring well-being not only to Mysuru state but to Karnataka and to the nation," Sadhguru stated, underscoring the potential impact of Wadiyar's involvement in the political sphere.
Replying to Mr Sadhguru’s message, Mr Wadiyar in an Instagram post stated, “My heartfelt thanks to Sadhguru. I will try to follow the principles outlined by Sadhguru and participate in this wonderful democracy to build a better India.”
Mr Sadhguru's endorsement comes as a significant boost to Mr. Wadiyar's electoral campaign. The BJP on 13 March dropped Pratap Simha, the sitting MP from Kodagu-Mysore seat, and fielded Mysuru royal scion Mr Wadiyar from the seat.
