Specialty Coffee Workshop to Be Held at The Coorg Shandy

Siddapur: A unique opportunity awaits coffee enthusiasts and producers in Kodagu with a hands-on Specialty Coffee Workshop on December 28 at The Coorg Shandy in Swarnamala, Siddapur. Designed for coffee producers looking to venture into the specialty coffee space or elevate their current produce, the workshop aims to improve the quality of coffee originating from Coorg.

For the first time in India, the workshop is a collaboration between four leading experts in the specialty coffee industry—Komal of South India Coffee Company, Gaurav of Humble Bean, Vaishnavi of Agasthya Coffee, and Rishwin of Riverside Coffee.

The workshop will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the coffee value chain, from bean to cup and beyond. Attendees will learn about coffee varietals, harvesting methods, processing techniques, green bean quality, fermentation, roasting, tasting, and brewing methods, according to organisers.

“This course is a collaborative effort from the best minds in specialty coffee and offers an accessible entry point for coffee producers into the rapidly evolving world of specialty coffee,” said Varun Aiyappa one of the organiser of The Coorg Shandy.

The event will run in two slots: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Priced at ₹ 800, it offers an affordable opportunity for coffee producers to gain hands-on expertise.
