Madikeri: Coffee growers in Kodagu (Coorg) witnessed a positive trend in the coffee market with robusta coffee cherry prices rising.
Today, January 1 2025, the price of Robusta Cherry EP coffee in Kodagu is EP-413.
Kodagu, nestled in Karnataka’s Western Ghats, has been a pivotal player in India’s coffee production, particularly known for its Robusta and Arabica varieties. The region’s coffee estates benefit from the ideal climatic conditions, including high altitude, abundant rainfall, and fertile soil, which collectively enhance the quality of the coffee beans.
Today’s Coffee Price in the spot lift category for robusta coffee cherry was recorded at ₹12,000 per bag, on January 2 2025.
The region’s coffee production significantly contributes to India’s overall coffee exports, making it a critical sector for Kodagu’s economy. Both local and export markets are expected to play a pivotal role in stabilising prices further in the coming weeks.
