Two Killed, Four Injured in Horrific Truck Accident Near Makutta in Kodagu

Makutta/Iritty: In a tragic accident near Makutta in Kodagu, two individuals lost their lives on the spot when a truck overturned after the driver lost control. The incident occurred on Saturday, 30 November near Ambuja Hotel, along the Makutta stretch, leaving four others severely injured.

According to witnesses, the truck, which was registered in Telangana, toppled over, trapping several occupants inside. Locals in the area rushed to the scene and managed to rescue those trapped in the vehicle. Some of the injured were found lying by the roadside, struggling in pain, before being shifted to Iritty Hospital in Kerala for treatment.

The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, but initial reports suggest the driver lost control while navigating the road. The Virajpet Rural Police have registered a case and are gathering details about the individuals who were traveling in the truck at the time of the accident.

The mishap has brought attention to the safety concerns along the Makutta stretch, a route frequently used by heavy vehicles. Further details about the victims and the injured are awaited as investigations continue.
