New Delhi: In a move aimed at bolstering infrastructure development in Kodagu and Mysuru districts, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, the Member of Parliament from Kodagu Mysuru, met with Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday. The focus of their discussion centered around crucial infrastructure projects, prominently the 92 km Mysuru-Kushalnagar four-lane highway.
Mr. Wadiyar emphasized the urgency of obtaining necessary sanctions for several pivotal aspects of the region's road network. Key among these requests were provisions for road safety enhancements along the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway, expedited land acquisition procedures for the Mysuru-Kushalnagar four-lane highway, and the proposed upgradation of the existing 6-lane highway linking Kerala to Kollegala.
The Mysuru-Kushalnagar four-lane highway, a significant green field project estimated at ₹4130 crore, saw its foundation stone laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March 2023. Spanning 547 hectares, the project is poised to play a transformative role in regional connectivity.
The land acquisition cost for the Mysuru-Kushalnagar four-lane highway has been pegged at ₹1100 crore.
